Land State Park Cabins can can vary in size from 1 bedroom to elaborate cabins of 8 to 10 rooms. Most are in the woods with a few lakefronts fronting on the large lake in Promised Land state park. There are none on the smaller more remote lake.
Many of these are on state forest land and you must be a Pennsylvania resident and pay cash to purchase.

Poconos
PA State Forest and Promised Land State park has recreational
and hunting cabins for long term lease. You purchase the sticks and bricks of the cabin and lease about 1/10 of an acre of state forest land that the cabin sits on. This is a 10 year lease that gets renewed as long as you keep the cabin in good condition.
There will only be
a few, as owners tend to keep them and pass them down from
generation to generation. These cabins are an inexpensive
way for a PA resident to own a recreational getaway. The land
lease is $200 per year and taxes on the cabin average $500
per year. For less than $1000/year you own a private recreation/
hunting cabin! These are rustic and usually have only outhouses.

3,000 acres and is on the Pocono Plateau, 1,800 feet above
sea level. It is surrounded by 12,464 acres of the Delaware
State Forest, including natural areas. Visitors to the park

The forests
of the park consist primarily of beech, oak, maple, and hemlock
trees. Two lakes and several small streams add to the park’s
outstanding scenic beauty.
Seasons
and Hours
The park is open every day of the year, sunrise
to sunset. However, the cabins are used 24 hours a day for
recreational purposes. Day use areas close at dusk. The park
office is open specific hours. The beach, overnight areas,
and other areas are open specific seasons and hours. Contact
