Matamoras- Located in Pike County with a population of 3,873 residents and 1,547 households. It is the easternmost point in Pennsylvania. Across the Delaware River are Port Jervis, New York and Montague, New Jersey. Matamoras was originally part of Westfall Township. Its name came from the Mexian town of Matamoros, which was the first town to be occupied by US troops during the Mexican- American War.
