| Boulder Lake Village Just outside of Lake Harmony, PA adjacent to Big Boulder Ski and Snow board Mountain, This is a four season destination (ok.... well 3 since not much goes on during Spring). With lake and ski activities nearby. Some homes in Boulder Lake Village have winter views of Big Boulder Lake and the ski slopes. In Summer, though, because of the trees, most homes here just feel like they are in the woods. Boulder Lake has a restaurant overlooking the lake and a "club" with small boat sailing, kayaking, canoeing and swimming. Lake Harmony power boating and jet skiing is about 3 miles away. In addition, Split Rock Resort with its restaurants, indoor water park and festivals is only about 4 miles. Real Estate Buying Tip: If you lbuy a home at Big Boulder consider purchasing a timeshare at Split Rock Resort to be able to use the resort amenities year around. Sometimes, you can purchase a real cheap week online! In winter, Big Boulder resort is the highest resort in the Poconos so it usually opens first . It is, however one of the smallest both in trails and elevation drop (between 6 and 700 feet). For families, this is a great place to have a second home. There is more than enough to do to keep kids occupied for months and it sits on the top of the Pocono Plateau, so it is usually 8-12 degrees cooler than Philly or NYC. It should tak less than 2 hours from Philadelphia or New York. |
